I've given birth three times but have never otherwise seen the delivery of a baby - unless you count TV shows like St. Elsewhere or ER.
The call for an emergency C-section gave me an opportunity to watch one of the Filipino docs in action, and it was a thrill.
My nursing teammates lamented about the outdated techniques and instruments used by the doctor, but the successful procedure welcomed a beautiful baby boy into the world.
From my point of view, it's good for the soul to witness a miracle every now and then.
